There are numerous examples of small scale success stories in BoP communities. How can these initiatives be scaled up and integrated into new communities and regions? What are the key components of a business that allows it to not only thrive, but flourish?

The objective of this group is to create a business model that integrates the entire water value chain by finding partners from all segments — production, distribution, and especially point of use, thus creating a Life Enterprise to support the life business partners as they make the great leap into the BoP.

This working group envisions the creation of a simple, low cost methodology for harnessing existing knowledge and recorded experiences to identify business ideas and product and service opportunities for BoP communities (i.e. supplementing the BoP Protocol™) and for adjusting business models accordingly.

The carbon credit system is still under developed and a possible resource for subsistence farmers to tap into. This group explores the issues and opportunities that are linked to carbon farming in emerging economies.
